These are the objectives that guide the daily work of the Zoo Koki Foundation.

To encourage and promote the advancement of informal education institutions and of scientific research, conservation, recreation and cultural centres.

To promote the training and instruction of the professionals, technicians and keepers of zoological parks and aquariums through the exchange of knowledge, high ethical standards of conduct, training and professional achievement.

To promote and maintain professional operating standards for work with fauna and flora.

To develop informal education and outreach programmes at professional, technical and operational level through congresses, seminars and publications that encourage cooperation.

To encourage and take part in the exchange of wild fauna specimens for scientific, conservation, informal education and recreational purposes.

To cooperate with other institutions on wildlife conservation legislation and regulations, respecting the conditions of any country regarding export, import and conservation.

To encourage and promote appropriate practices for managing wild animals in captivity, and to motivate scientific research to increase knowledge of fauna.

To develop strategies for the conservation and breeding of endangered species, taking part in international conservation efforts and environmental education programmes.

To make the most of collective resources for the conservation of biodiversity, and to carry out any act directly or indirectly related to these objectives.
