The first cognitively accessible zoological park, with ARASAAC pictograms and Movimiento Azul.
We believe it is necessary to break down existing prejudices and empathise with everyone: to get to know and understand their needs so that we can provide the specific support that allows them to live happily and take part in society on equal terms with the rest of the population.
The Zoo Koki Foundation is involved in conservation and education projects and also works actively to support the groups that need it most. As you know, a visit to the zoo is free on presentation of the relevant card.
Together with the ARASAAC pictograms and the Movimiento Azul association, we have produced signage placed throughout the zoo that makes getting around easier and, above all, helps visitors with ASD to anticipate what comes next. In this way we have become the first cognitively accessible zoological park.

We have created an audio guide that works from an app via QR codes. This makes it much easier to understand the information for people who prefer it for convenience, or who cannot read our signage in the usual way.
The centre has toilets adapted for people with reduced mobility, so they can use them safely, autonomously and independently.
We have also adapted our website: you will see an icon with options to increase/decrease text size, greyscale, high contrast, negative contrast, light background, underlined links, readable font and site map.
